Tests are usually used as the marker to determine a child’s grade in a subject. So, your child completes their unit on fractions and has a test on fractions. This test mark is usually weighted quite high in a child’s overall mark and is used as “the” predictor of whether they understand fractions or not. Therefore, as a parent, when we put weight on grades that are determined in such a way, we think our kids should do well on tests. Being a guest on the Think Opposite radio show with Alison Donaghey, I was able to share a different take on tests! Let me know what you think!
